Dear Woodward Academy Parents:

We wanted to thank you for all of your support during the 2007-2008 school year. Through your efforts and hard work many wonderful events occurred, friendships were made, and the students’ lives were enriched.

The Parents Club raised funds for the Woodward Academy thanks to the tireless efforts of our committee volunteers for the Consignment Shop, Super Goober Day, Spirit Committee and the Woodward Raffle. The Parents Club is please to announce that $110,000 was raised to give back to the Academy.

The Executive Committee of the Parents Club approved the following disbursements:

Annual Giving Match
$25,000
Athletic Department
$5,000
Student Life/Prom for the Upper School
$10,000
The Capital Campaign
($20,000 in memory of Dr. Hank Payne)
$70,000
Total 2008 Gifts to Woodward Academy

This year the Parents Club Executive Committee focused its giving on the Capital Campaign. The Executive Committee believes that by providing financial support for the Capital Campaign our mission to enhance the Woodward Academy students would be achieved. We are proud to provide a Physics Lab for the new Science and Math building which is set to open in the fall.

A special thank you to all of the members of the executive committee, the school chairs, the committee chairs, the room parents, the consignment shop volunteers, the raffle chair and volunteers, the concession volunteers and to everyone else that work so hard on behalf of our students.

We would also like take the time to thank the Administration and the faculty of the Academy for all of its support during the school year. Being involved with the Parents Club is a wonderful opportunity for the parents to get to know the faculty, other parents and the Administration at Woodward Academy. We encourage everyone to participate to get to know this wonderful group of individuals. It has been a privilege for us to serve as Presidents of the Parents Club and we look forward to seeing everyone next year.

Sincerely yours,

Becky and Chip Burns
