Woodward Academy emphasizes a strong and diverse liberal arts education for students of all ages. At the earliest grades, both performing and visual arts play a part of the curriculum. Students learn about history and techniques involved in various art forms as they develop an appreciation for the arts. About this year's events:
On Sunday, March 30th, the Academy community will once again gather at the High Museum of Art over a full late afternoon and evening. This is the sixth year that we will have exclusive use of the Museum’s spaces and exhibitions. As we did last year, we will stagger suggested arrival times according to age, beginning at 4:15 p.m. for special activities for the youngest.
This year’s event provides a marvelous array of different kinds of art. We will have access to the following exhibitions:
- Louvre Atlanta: The Louvre and the Ancient World
- Georgia O’Keefe and the Women of the Stieglitz Circle
- Embodying the Sacred in Yoruba Art
- TRANSactions: Contemporary Latino and Latin American Art
- Street Life: American Photographs form the 1960s and 1970s
We suggest the following arrival times:
- Grades K-2 and younger, between 4:15 and 5:30 p.m.
- Grades 3-6, between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
- All others between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.
