Choraliers competed in class C and also garnered straight superior ratings too. Woodward Academy Middle School to Perform at GMEA In-Service Conference

The Woodward Academy Middle School Advanced Band has been invited to present a program at the Georgia Music Educators In-service Conference in Savannah on January 25, 2008. It is a tremendous honor to be chosen for this prestigious event. The band was one of two middle school bands in the state elected by a taped audition process from a field of outstanding bands throughout Georgia. Historically is also significant because it is the first time an independent high school or middle school concert band has been selected. Students will perform for an audience of several hundred music educators at the Savannah Civic Center. Included in the thirty minute program will be “Portrait of an Old Country Town,” an original work that the middle school band has commissioned by Composer Rob Grice.
