The Alumni Service Award
Recognizes those alumni/alumnae who have unselfishly devoted their time and energies for the betterment of the Academy and alumni program. Past recipients are:

The Joseph W. Jones Award for Distinguished Service
For Distinguished Service was established in 1986 to recognize those individuals who, though not alumni/alumnae of the Academy, have made significant contributions toward advancing the Academy’s program. The award is named in honor of its first recipient, Mr. Joseph W. Jones, Senior Vice-President of The Coca-Cola Company and an Academy Governing Board member. Past recipients are:

The Woodward Medallion
An award given by Woodward Academy to an individual, organization or business, for distinguished and significant service or support to the field of education. This award was given during Woodward/GMA's Centennial Celebration during the 1999-2000 school year.

Nominating Procedure
Each year, Woodward Academy bestows three top honors to outstanding alumni. To ensure the success of this project, the administration must rely on you to nominate those you feel eligible for the honor. Following are the guidelines:
- A one to two page letter nominating the person. The letter may be signed by one or more individuals and should outline the major reasons why the nominee should receive the award
- A biographical statement on the nominee is to accompany the letter of nomination. This statement should include career history, family information, education, civic and volunteer service.
- Nominations are due by April 15.
Presentation of Awards: The awards will be presented at the annual alumni reunion weekend. In case of scheduling conflicts, awards can be presented at a mutually agreeable time at an appropriate ceremony at Woodward Academy.
Awards Recommendation/Selection Ballot
Alumni Service Award
Selected by the Advancement Office and Governing Board Chair.
Criteria: The nominee(s) should have been actively involved in alumni programs at Woodward Academy and should, in the opinion of the Alumni Board, have made significant contributions to the betterment of the Academy.
The Joseph W. Jones Distinguished Service Award
Selected by the Academy President and Governing Board Chair.
Criteria: The nominee(s) must be a non-alumnus who has made significant contributions to the Academy in terms of time and energy.
Distinguished Alumni Award
Selected by a committee comprised of the Academy President, Governing Board Chair and Alumni Association President or his or her representative.
Criteria: Selection should be based on career and community involvement and accomplishment. The individual should be distinguished in his or her field as well as having made significant contributions to his or her community or the Academy community. Woodward Academy faculty and staff are not eligible to receive this award.
